8/4/2012-Suns blow out Lakers as Paul wreaks havoc
Eight players scored in double figures for the Hawks as they romped to a 20 point victory over the Charlotte Bobcats. Cory Higgins led the Bobcats with a career high 22 point off the bench. Zaza Pachulia had 12 points on 5-6 shooting and grabbed 16 points in the landslide victory.
The Boston Celtics suffocated the Indiana Pacers, holding them to just 35% shooting from the field, winning 86-72. Ray Allen had 19 off the bench and Paul Pierce lead both teams with 24 points as the Celtics continued their push up the standings. Danny Granger had 20 for the Pacers.
Dwight Howard’s 20 points, 20 rebound and 6 assist game combined with Glen Davis’ 23 and 12 proved too much for the 76ers as they lost 88-82. Thaddeus Young led the Sixers with 20 points off the bench.
Rudy Gay’s 25 points lead the Grizzlies as they bested the Dallas Mavericks 89-94. Gilbert Arenas looked good for his 14 points off the bench and could prove to be an x-factor in the upcoming playoffs. Dirk had 17 points in the loss.
Kaman and Smith combined for a total 47 points and 20 rebounds as the New Orleans Hornets took down the Minnesota Timberwolves. Kevin Love had 29 points and 12 rebounds but it just wasn’t enough as they lost 90-99.
Beno Udrih and Brandon Jennings both had 21 points apiece as the Milwaukee Bucks blew out the Portland Trailblazers by 22 points. The disappointing Blazers didn’t offer a great deal of resistance, barring Alridge’s 21 points, as they went down in double figures.
Big 2nd and 3rd quarters from Michael Redd and Shannon Brown lead the Phoenix Suns to a 20 point victory over arch rival Los Angeles. Veteran point guard Steve Nash got the better of his younger compatriot Ramon Session, scoring 13 points and dishing out 11 assists as Pau Gasol had 30 for the Lakers.
Blake Griffin’s 27 points were supplemented by Chris Paul’s 19 point, 15 assist and 7 steal game as the LA Clippers beat the Sacramento Kings by 15. DeMarcus Cousins had 15 points and 20 rebounds in the loss.
