Al Jefferson tips home the winner on the buzzer as Hornets beat Paul in return
The Wizards gave up a 20 point lead and weren’t able to follow up one win with another, losing to the Indiana Pacers. New recruit Nene struggled in his second outing for the franchise, only scoring 6 points while Roy Hibbert ran rampant for the Pacers, scoring 19 points on 8-14 shooting. Jordan Crawford led the Wizards, with 21 points for the home team, continuing his hot run.
Paul Pierce over took Clyde Drexler for 26th place on the all-time scoring list with 25 points and Rajon Rondo had a double-double with 10 points and 14 assists as the Celtics stopped the Buck’s winning streak. Garnett also chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Brandon Jennings led the way for the Bucks scoring 19 points for the home team, and new recruit Monta Ellis dished out 7 assists in the loss.
The New Orleans Hornets took an emotional win over the LA Clippers in favourite son Chris Paul’s return to New Orleans. Chris Kaman had a big game against his former team, scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds but turning the ball over 7 times. Chris Paul had 16 points in his former arena, but teammate Blake Griffin was the high point man with 23 points, bouncing back after his 7 point performance.
Chandler Parsons’ 20 and 11 helped the Rockets blow out the Golden State Warriors by 26 points. Still without Steph Curry, the Warriors struggled to find the scoring necessary to be competitive. Luis Scola had 18 for the Rockets while recently signed Richard Jefferson lead the way off the bench for the Warriors with 14 points.
The Utah Jazz have won five in a row, with Al Jefferson tipping in the game winner to go with his 26 points. Gordon Hayward and Derek Favors also came up big for the visitors, scoring 18 and 12 respectively. After telling his team to leave John Salmons in the starting lineup after two consecutive wins, Tyreke Evans came off the bench scored a team high 25 points for the home team.
The new look Trailblazers had a big win over the Memphis Grizzlies, coming back in the 4th to win at home. Nicolas Batum was the high scorer for the ‘Blazers, pouring in 24 points while Jamal Crawford had a big game of the bench, scoring 17 for the Trailblazers. Marc Gasol lead the Grizzlies with 22 as Gilbert Arenas saw his first action for his new team, with 2 points, 2 steals and 3 assists.
